Self-Centering Capabilities

Royal's 803 Series Self-Centering Automatic Index chucks are designed for today's CNC turning centers.  A patented cylinder-operated linear index mechanism provides quicka ccurate indexing while the machine spindle is rotating.

The open center, long jaw stroke and self-centering features, refined by Toyal over the past 30 years, provide fast and easy loading, accurate workpiece centering and maximum cutting tool access.

With self-centering, there is no need to pre-machine locating points on the work-piece, shim the locating jaw to compensate for casting variances, or for box fixtures to centralize your workpiece.

Indexing time is equal to or less than the machine tool's indexing time.  This helps reduce overall cycle time.  The quick index substantially reduces the effect of transient imbalances while indexing.

Chuck Specifications

Royal's 803 Series Self-Centering Automatic Index chucks are operated by a duplex cylinder that uses a conventional draw tube and draw bar with independently operated clamping and indexing pistons.  The clamp/un-clamp piston is hydraulically operated for maximum clamping force.  To assure quick indexing, a pneumatically operated index piston assures quick part positioning.
