 This style of conventional feedfinger has been around since the early development of multi-spindle machine tools. They are very popular due to their initial low price. They require little maintainence are generally considered disposable.

They are not in full contact with the bar as is the Hainbuch RS system, however they provide sufficient feed force in most general purpose applications.
