Conventional Collet

 This style conventional collet has been around since the early development of multi-spindle machine tools. They are very popular due to their initial low price. They require little maintainence are generally considered disposable.

They do not provide parallel clamping as the Spanntop system does, however they provide sufficient clamping force in most general purpose applications.
