Spanntop dead length chucks are available in the following style:

Through Bore for bar work.
Combi for both bar and chucking.
Sub-spindle with reduced outside diameter and length.

Dead length chucks maintain the workpiece or bar stock in a fixed axial position during clamping. In the dead length design, the clamping head is coupled to the chuck body and remains stationary as the tapered actuator moves forward to close the clamping head (collet).
