Centaur supplies the collets you
require, when you require them. If ordering an Inch size collet, you will get a true
inch size collet from Centaur - not the metric equivalent. For example, some
companies supply a 7-6mm collet when asked for a 1/4 collet. All collets are most
accurate at the nominal diameter. A 7mm collet has a nominal diameter of .2755 and
must collapse .025 before actually clamping the tool. A Centaur 1/4 collet has the
actual .250 nominal diameter and will clamp more accurately with higher gripping strength. |
